There are two Skamonics gigs next weekend.

On Friday Jan 12th the Skamonics return to Bar Mau-Mau after our
triumphant gig there at the end of last year to play on perhaps the
smallest stage in London.

Not only can you dance like crazy, but watch to see if the bass or
guitar decapitate another band member mid-gig.

Bar Mau-Mau is 256 Portobello Road, W10 1LR and is almost under the
Westway. Nearest tube is Ladbroke Grove. I expect we will play our
first set sometime around 9pm.

No doubt members of the Notting Hill set will be in attendance,
probably ready to get their yah-yahs out.

The very next night (Saturday Jan 13th) we play in

The Passing Clouds Works,
Richmond Road just off Kingsland Road,
Dalston E8 4AA

This gig is organised by the ArtMusicPolitic co-op who are both
right-on and great at organising parties, which is no doubt why there
is no mention of this gig on their website.

But while we will be there, this is probably not one for the Notting Hill set.

The venue has an entertaining myspace page at
http://www.myspace.com/passingclouds.

And the day after that we are recording a new demo so watch the web
site for an opportunity to download some new tunes. It's at
www.skamonics.co.uk - though it will be a few weeks before we get it
mixed and polished to perfection.

Diary date

On February 9th we play Ginglik which is an old Victorian toilet on
the Shepherds Bush Green. And this really is a subterranean tribute to
nineteenth century porcelain, not simply a semi-accurate description
of the back stage facilities at most of our gigs. It sounds ideal for
a night on the tiles.
