Skanking the Earl Haig

The Earl Haig is an old British Legion social club in Crouch End now converted into a pub and social centre for the area.

We like it because it has a good stage, and great sound.

We played two sets last night, with special guest Jackie Grant making her debut on tenor sax.

It was too dark – and a bit too much of a rush – to take more than a few snaps.

But this is what we played:

Thanks to Elliot for being a great sound engineer.

Our next gig – March 5th Earl Haig Hall, Crouch End

Our next public gig is next Thursday when we return to the Earl Haig Hall Elder Avenue, London N8 9TH.

We had a great time when we played there before. There’s a good stage and a great sound system, and a lovely relaxed vibe to the place.

We will be playing two full sets – and it’s free to get in.

And if you want to invite your friends, here is the Facebook event.

New gig at Crouch End’s Earl Haig on November 6th

Our next public gig will be at the Earl Haig Hall in Crouch End on Thursday Nov 6th at 8pm.

It’s free and we will be playing two sets of ska and rock-steady.

There’s a Facebook event here. And you download a pdf flyer Skamonics at Earl Haig.

And the Earl Haig sounds pretty good to us:

The Earl Haig is an ex-British Legion come social club in the heart of Crouch End.  Proud to be a family and canine friendly pub, we offer an extensive selection of local, national and international ales, lagers, wines and spirits.  Our food offering is incredibly important to us, with our excellent menu including vegetarian options, kid’s dishes, Sunday lunches and our brand new ‘Host Your Own Roast’.
